FIU Latvia participates in Europol Financial Intelligence Public Private Partnership Plenary

On September 16, Paulis Iļjenkovs, Deputy Head of Cooperation Coordination Division of Financial Intelligence Unit of Latvia (FIU Latvia) participated in Europol Financial Intelligence Public Private Partnership (EFIPPP) Plenary. During the meeting Paulis Iļjenkovs presented methodological material created by FIU Latvia about typologies and indicators of money laundering (ML).

The methodological material is designed to promote a common understanding mainly among law enforcement authorities, the prosecutor’s office and the court regarding the suspicious transactions and the indicators of criminal activities, with a stronger focus on the ML typologies specific to Latvia’s risk profile for criminal offences. The material (2nd revised version) is also available on FIU Latvia website.

 

It was the 16th meeting of the EFIPPP and its main theme was proliferation financing and terrorism financing (PF/TF).

 

To strenghten internationl cooperation in ML/PF/TF field, FIU Latvia is a member of EFIPPP.
